On Monday, August 8th, 2022, the City of Saluda Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution endorsing the Saluda Grade Trail. The outdoor recreational project represents a transitional opportunity for the small towns along its corridor, supplying sustainable economic development and public health
measurables – having a similar impact as when the railroad lines first appeared in these mountain communities. The City of Saluda has been in conversation with Conserving Carolina about the trail for some time. We felt it was appropriate to officially endorse the project as conservation groups gain momentum to both acquire, and then build, the infrastructure for this impactful trail.
